Introducing NWTheatre.org

Seattle theatre coverage has gotten pretty slim.

We want to help change that.

Welcome to NWTheatre.org, a site dedicated to independent, local coverage of local arts, by people who love local arts. As the name suggests, this site focuses particularly on the Pacific Northwest theatre scene and related media (e.g., dance theatre), and will host standard reviews, interviews, features, and “quick takes” (short pieces on shows and organizations to check out).

The site is designed to make theatre accessible and representative, by presenting the where/when (see the Calendar page); highlighting financially accessible performances; providing information on venues that indicates the presence of, for example, physically accessible spaces and gender-neutral restrooms; and showcasing productions and companies that celebrate underrepresented voices and stories.

We hope this site will help celebrate the exceptional artists in the Seattle area and their work, and help area theatre lovers step out to see works that resonate with them.

Thank you for joining us.
